Some Tips For Reducing Gallbladder Pain

It is said that gallbladder pain is so severe that the patient often feels that he is suffering from a heart attack. To reduce this pain, the only immediate remedy is of course antibiotics but on a long term basis the patient has to watch his diet. Gallbladder, the pear-shaped magic wonder helps in the digestive process by breaking down the fats as it produces bile. When there is an infection in this organ, the digestive process gets affected. The gallbladder stones which are formed as a result of cholesterol lumps cause severe pain.

Initially, the patient feels a pain in the abdomen and is followed by nausea and severe vomiting. Some people also have acute pain in the diaphragm area immediately after they consume a large meal of fatty food. When it becomes chronic, the patient suffers acute pain near the ribs and the lower back area. This is also followed by diarrhea, abdominal bloating and high fever which sometimes also develop into jaundice.

Only when the patient corrects his dietary habits, and starts consuming food that helps in the production of bile can there be long term relief. It is often found that meat and dietary products like milk, butter, cheese, etc are the main culprits that aggravate this problem. The animal products have high levels of cholesterol and when people consume them daily, cholesterol level increases in the body.

Gallbladder cleansing is also an effective remedy and it helps to reduce the pain drastically. This is possible by including liquids in diet like soups and juices. Apple juice, lime juice, Apple cider vinegar, etc all aid in this process as they have properties to flush out the fat deposits from the gallbladder. A diet rich in mono-unsaturated foods also is a great help. This can be included in the diet by consuming olive oil, cod liver oil, flaxseed, etc.

To reduce the frequency and occurrence of the attacks, and to find an effective permanent solution to the problem of gallbladder pain, a good dietary habit is the only remedy. Fresh fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, wheat germ, etc should all be included daily in the diet.
